Faith Zone WorkshopsThe Faith Zone is an exciting concept for "Sunday School" that was introduced at St. John's in the Autumn of 2000. This unique teaching concept will allow our children to experience Bible teachings through the Multiple Intelligences Theory.
Created by the Spirit (Art Workshop)
Kids will express their bright ideas through the creative arts as they respond to what they are hearing and experiencing. The theme for the session may have them building their own nativity scene molding clay, painting, or building. The design motif includes bright colors and fabric to stimulate their creative juices!
Super Sunday Cinema (Cinema Workshop)
As the children walk into the theatre with a bag of popcorn in their hands, they will watch a movie telling the story of the month's Bible theme. The big screen and "surround sound" make this experience a favorite for Faith Zone Kids!
The Oasis (Storytelling Workshop)
This is the Biblical equivalent to "Once upon a time..". The Bedouin camp in the desert oasis is the perfect spot to sit and listen to the story of the day. All of nature surrounds them at the oasis.
Where in the World Is? (Geography Workshop)
This is a map room where the children can seek and find. The walls are covered with maps so that children may find their way through Jerusalem, chart Paul's travels or pinpoint locations of the New Testament miracles!
Abraham's Laboratory (Science Workshop)
The science lab will allow the Faith Zone to use experiments to discover new things about how God's world is made. The scientists will learn first hand about physical and spiritual truths as they conduct the day's trials.
Bible@Your Fingertips (Computer Workshop)This is a challenging and fun computer class that offers an interactive study of the Bible stories.
Bible Improv (Drama Workshop)
"Enter the Holy Spirit...stage right!" The drama workshop finds kids re-enacting the Bible story with stage sets, costumes or by making and using puppets.
Corner Cafe (Cooking Workshop)
This workshop invites the kids to "eat their way through the Bible" in a variety of cooking experiences that tie into the Bible story they are hearing that month. One of the kids' favorite workshops, you'll find them cooking up wonderful memories.
Moved By the Spirit (Movement Workshop)
"Faith Zone" adventurers will be leaping, dancing and moving with large motor activities to experience the story.
